Addicted to the snooze button? This alarm clock guarantees you’ll get up to turn it off

For all the chronic snooze bar pressers of the world comes the Witwatia Pressure Sensitive Alarm Clock. The Witwatia alarm clock is not like ordinary alarm clocks that rest on the night stand next to your bed. This alarm clock goes on the floor like a rug. Yes, the floor.

The Witwatia Pressure Sensitive Alarm Clock is a large memory foam mat with a built-in clock and digital display. When the alarm sounds, you will need to stand on the pressure sensitive mat with both feet for at least 3 seconds to silence the alarm. The idea is if you can get out of bed and stand on the mat for 3 seconds, then you might as well go ahead and get ready for your day instead of jumping back in bed.

The alarm sound can be customized by connecting the mat to a computer using a USB cable to add your own tunes.

The only down side that I can see with this alarm clock is that it has its own built-in “snooze bar”. If you don’t get out of bed and stand on the pressure sensitive mat, the alarm will play for 5 minutes, stop for 5 minutes, then play again for 5 minutes. So your best bet is to put a really obnoxious alarm sound so you won’t be able to stand listening to it play for a full 5 minutes.

The Witwatia Pressure Sensitive Alarm Clock can be purchased for $59.99 from Amazon.

Thanks to Pam T. for sending me this news idea.

Amazon has started offering qualified customers the option to pay for select cell phones using monthly payments. They will charge you the first payment when the device ships and the remaining balance will then be split into equal monthly payments.

Amazon does not add any finance charges, interest, or hidden fees and there is no credit check or application required.

Developer with visual disability creates Big Keys iOS keyboard app with emojis

As I get older, I find that I often look over my glasses instead of through them because I’m at that glorious age when it’s tough to see small things like text on my phone without taking off my glasses first. Even though I wear bifocals, it’s sometimes really tough to see tiny things close up. It makes me wonder how people with real vision issues are able to enjoy using their smartphones and tablets without a lot of frustration.

One software developer, Hassan Hattab has taken matters into his own hands (eyes?) and created Big Keys, an iOS keyboard app that not only allows you to resize the characters for easier viewing, but the keyboard app also has emojis!

Accessibility is a big deal to the app founder, Hassan Hattab. He has a visual disability which contacts or glasses can’t fix. For years Hassan wanted to be able to see his keyboard better (and those emojis too!). He created this app to help himself, and many users in using and seeing their keyboards on their iPad and on the iPhone.

Big Keys Features:

Adjust the font size and emojis size on the keyboard.
Numeric Keypad for faster data entry.
Track the last pressed key.
Use gestures for faster typing.
Free selection of color combination to make it easier to see and work with the keys.

Check out the video:

You can read more about Big Keys at http://www.youapps.co/BigKeys and buy it for $2.99 through iTunes.

WaterField Designs has 2 new cases to protect your Nintendo Switch

Did you buy the new Nintendo Switch gaming console? I know that their product launch didn’t quite go as smoothly as they had hoped, but if you have one, it’s time to protect it and WaterField Designs has that covered with two new cases: The Nintendo Switch City Slicker Case and the Nintendo Switch Multiplayer Pro Case.

Their smaller Nintendo Switch City Slicker Case is made of ballistic nylon with a leather flap that uses magnets instead of snaps. The case holds the Switch console along with the two Joy-Cons, straps and the charger.

There are even dedicated slots to hold the game cards.

The Nintendo Switch City Slicker Case is available with four different color leather flaps including black, grizzly, blue and red. You can order one for $79.

WaterField’s larger Nintendo Switch Multiplayer Pro Case has been designed to hold everything that the City Slicker case can hold and a whole lot more. The grizzly leather tote has zippers that go around three sides so that you can open it and lay it flat to access all your gear.

The Pro Case is a little spendy at $149, but it looks like WaterField really did their homework to design a nice case that can hold everything a Nintendo Switch fanatic might carry with them.

Both cases are sold out until the first week of April. For more info on these new Nintendo Switch cases, head over to sfbags.com
