Harness the power of the Dark Side to vacuum your living room!

I felt a great disturbance in the force, as if millions of dust bunnies under my couch cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced…

Just in time for holiday shopping, Samsung brings us their POWERbot robot vacuum in a limited edition Star Wars theme! Available in either a Darth Vader or Stormtrooper design, the POWERbot maps the contours of every room and includes sensor technologies to avoid getting trapped in its journey. It also includes edge cleaning, remote control via your smartphone app, and voice control compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.

Harnessing the power of the Dark Side isn’t cheap: pre-order pricing is set at $799 for the Darth Vader version and $699 for the Stormtrooper edition. But if you’re shopping for the hardcore Star Wars fan who has everything, you can check out the details at Samsung’s website.

The UBTECH Stormtrooper robot will recognize your face

Star Wars nerds from the dark side are going to love the Star Wars First Order Stormtrooper Robot by UBTECH. This robot has augmented reality (AR) capabilities, response to voice commands, can be used for sentry patrolling, and even has facial recognition.

The facial recognition feature sounds the most interesting to me. You can create a database of up to three faces that the Stormtrooper robot will recognize for customized interactions. And if you need to keep intruders out of your secret lair, you can order your Stormtrooper to patrol a designated area to detect and respond to intruders.

The Star Wars First Order Stormtrooper Robot by UBTECH will retail for £299.95 (about $400 US) and is now available for pre-order at starwars.ubtrobot.com. There is currently no details on when it will ship and be available in stores.

Star Wars Jedi Challenges transforms kids into a Jedi with AR

Every kid dreams of being a Jedi, but Lenovo has figured out that swinging a lightsaber alone isn’t enough to satisfy kids in 2017. That’s why they’ve partnered with Disney to come out with Star Wars Jedi Challenges. Star Wars Jedi Challenges uses augmented reality to simulate the experience of being Jedi. The system, which requires a smartphone to work, includes a Lenovo Mirage AR headset, Tracking Beacon, and a Lightsaber controller.

The lightsaber itself is modeled after Anakin Skywalker’s own lightsaber, while the headset is where the smartphone is anchored, and the beacon allows players to freely move with natural motion as they duel or direct their pieces across the battlefield.

Jedi Challenges will come with plenty of games entrenched in the Star Wars universe. Gameplay includes everything from training to lightsaber battles against villains like Darth Vader and Kylo Red, combat games and Holochess. In addition, Jedi Challenges introduces a new Star Wars character, the Archivist, whose jobs is to teach players how to properly use the Force.

“With Star Wars: Jedi Challenges, Lenovo and Disney are bringing Star Wars to fans in ways they could previously only imagine,” said Jeff Meredith, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Lenovo Consumer PCs & Smart Devices.

Star Wars Jedi Challenges is compatible with Android and iPhone and is available for pre-order at Best Buy and Lenovo for $199.99. It will be available in November, and we’re sure it will be a hot holiday item for kids, and probably some adults too.

Luke, I am your toaster

We showed you a Star Wars inspired toaster about seven years ago that burned the image of Darth Vader into the piece of toast. Cool yes, but not as cool as this toaster which is actually shaped like Darth Vader’s helmet!

The Darth Vader Toaster from Pangea Brands is a two slice toaster that is an officially licensed Star Wars product.

In addition to looking cool on its own, it makes your toast look cool too by burning the Star War’s logo into it.

The toaster is made of black plastic in the shape of Darth Vader’s iconic helmet and features a removable crumb tray, an adjustable thermostat, and a quick stop button to pop up the toast.

If you like your toast on the dark side (see what I did there?), grab yourself a Darth Vader Toaster for $39.99 from Amazon where they also sell Death Star and Stormtrooper toasters too.
