Did you know that there’s a Fisher Space Pen for your backpack?

Fisher Space Pens haven’t been on my radar for awhile, but I happened to see an image of one on Pinterest the other day that reminded me of an updated version of the Inka Pen that I reviewed over 10 years ago. So I clicked over to the Fisher Space Pen site and was greeted by a variety of pen that I didn’t know they carried, including the Backpacker Pen.

The Fisher Space Pen Backpacker pen has an anodized aluminum shell that is available in five colors including the blue version that you see above.

It features a two-piece design that keeps the pen relatively compact at 3.92 inches when it’s closed and 5.41 inches when it’s open. There’s also a keyring attached to the cap so you can easily attach it to a carabiner.

The Backpacker Pen uses Fisher’s pressurized ink cartridges that are known to allow writing in almost any temperature and angle.

What is your favorite pocket pen? I’m on the hunt for a new one but am too picky because everything I try feels inferior to the Big Idea Design Ti Arto that’s my current favorite desk pen. I’m such a fan of Pilot G2 refills, that most other pens make me feel like I’m writing with sludge.

The Fisher Space Pen Backpacker pens are $20 each when purchased directly from the Fisher Space Pen site, but you can get them for slightly less through Amazon.

The Cuttlelola Dotspen lets you stipple without wrist strain

I bet you clicked through just to find out what stippling is didn’t you? If you’re not an artist, you probably haven’t heard of the term. Stippling is an art technique that is achieved by drawing dots. LOTS of dots. Thousands of dots. Maybe millions of dots. You get the idea. Using an ordinary pen or pencil to draw dots is the traditional way to stipple, but this is the 21st century, we have gadgets that can do the hard work for us now. Check out the Cuttlelola Dotspen.

The Cuttlelola Dotspen looks like a regular ballpoint pen, but inside is a USB rechargeable battery and a motor that moves the pen tip up and down to create dots. Isn’t technology just the best?

The Dotspen comes with 5 black ink cartridges, but more can be purchased online when you run out after drawing Jack Sparrow like you see below.

The effect that is made by drawing with the Cuttlelola Dotspen is very unique. It reminds me of artwork in comics from the 50’s and 60’s.

You can read more about the Cuttlelola Dotspen at www.cuttlelola.com and you can order one for $62.98 from Amazon.

The Stealth Pen by Lioe Design is both futuristic and odd

What is your favorite type of pen? Clicky? Capped? No cap and no click? Or just plain unique? If you like uniquely designed pens, then I present to you, the Stealth Pen from Lioe Design.

This aluminum uni-body style pen has been designed to use a total of 4 parts. The minimalist design makes the pen easy to assemble and disassemble and keeps it very lightweight.

The pen uses Schmidt parker style G2 refills and comes with a Schmidt EasyFlow 9000 refill. The slots in the barrel allow you to see the type of refill installed in the pen and the non-standard shape is supposed to offer extra grip comfort.

Available with a silver or black bead blasted finish, the Stealth pen is priced at $68. You can read more about it at lioedesign.com and you can order one from Amazon.
