Bluffworks continues their travel wardrobe with Departure Jeans

NEWS – Hot off the press, Bluffworks continues their travel/smart casual clothing line with their recently-released Departure Jeans.  Available in Regular Fit or Slim Fit, these are traditional 5-pocket blue jeans but in typical Bluffworks fashion, they include two hidden, zippered pockets in the back waistband (see right image above) to help with securing important items while traveling.  With a denim fabric made from 68% Cotton, 22% COOLMAX Polyester, 9% Rayon, and 1% Spandex, they will keep you cool and comfortable while remaining machine-washable, which is great for not only travel, but also for going out on the town or even around town for errands.  In fact, they are rated at 11 oz fabric weight per yard compared to 14 oz fabric per yard compared to standard denim jeans, so they will even take up less space in your travel bag.  The Bluffworks Departure Jeans are available now for $125.  Visit bluffworks.com for more info or to order.

Get ready for March Madness with the HoopLight which lights up when you score

NEWS – I live in southern Indiana near Bloomington, home of the Indiana Hoosiers IU basketball team. It goes without saying that people in this area take basketball very seriously and with March Madness right around the corner, it’s time to get your own game in tip-top shape. One fun way to do that is with a HoopLight. What’s a HoopLight? It’s a kit that you add to your existing basketball hoop that causes it to light up when you score a basket. Check out the video below to see what I mean.

The sensor-activated LED light strip mounts on the rim of the basketball hoop you already have and lights up in 1 of a 100 different light patterns every time it detects that a ball has swished through the hoop. HoopLight encourages you to improve your game just so you can have the reward of seeing it light up. Want one? The kit is $119 on hoop-light.com

Peel and stick whiteboards let you brainstorm anywhere

NEWS – Typical whiteboards are large, heavy, and require effort and tools to install them. The Think Board X is a whiteboard that isn’t any of those things. It’s a peel and stick dry-erase whiteboard that can stick on smooth surfaces like a wall, window, tabletop, etc. It can be repositioned but that really depends on how clean the surface you use it on is as the adhesive will get weaker as it collects dust and dirt.

The Think Board X is available in 2 sizes that include 8 x 11 inch and 24 x 36 inches. The boards are powered by Rocketbook, the same folks that make the reusable notebooks. Using the Rocketbook app, you can take pictures of your Think Board X before you erase them and automatically share the images to Box, Dropbox, Google Drive, Evernote, iCloud, OneNote, OneDrive, Slack, SMS or email. Prices for the Think Board X start at $14.99 for the smaller size and go up to $39.99 for the larger size. You can find more info on think-board.com and order from Amazon.

BEEcosystem is a modular honey bee hive for your home

NEWS – If you care about the planet, you’ve probably heard that honey bees are having a very rough time and are dying by the millions due to pesticides and other factors. Bees not only pollinate pretty flowers, but they are a critical pollinator of the world’s fruit and vegetable crops. Fewer bees mean less food which at some point might mean less us. One way to combat this problem is for more people to raise honeybees on their property. BEEcosystem has gone one step further by offering DIY modular hives that actually go INSIDE your home!

Designed primarily for the educational benefit, BEEcosystem hives do not require that you cut a hole a wall to install them. Instead, they travel into the hive by way of a tube that installs in an existing window. I’m almost afraid to post this article for fear that Jeanne will see it. She’s talked about wanting start a beehive on our property (she’s an avid gardener), but even though these hives are built to be safe, there is no way in the world that I’d ever want one INSIDE my house. What about you? Interested? Visit beecosystem.buzz where you can buy them starting at $599 for one hive and up to $2599 for a set of 5 hives. Nope, Nope, Nope!
