Be prepared for the spring gift season with wrap buddies

NEWS – And you thought that the holidays were behind us didn’t you? That’s adorable… Springtime is a busy time for holidays like Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and graduation.

That means you’ll need a tool to help you wrap all those gifts you’ll be giving to family and friends. What you need are some wrap buddies!

Wrap buddies are plastic clips that are designed to grip the edge of most tables and hold a roll of wrapping paper between them. Consider wrap buddies like an extra hand. They can hold any size roll and they have a built-in tape dispenser on each end for even more convenience. See them in action below.

For more info visit the wrap buddies website and you can buy them directly through their site for $20 a set or head over to Amazon and save a penny.

Amazon Day allows Prime Members to choose a shipment day that works for them

NEWS – If you’re an Amazon Prime member, you now have a new delivery option. On Thursday Amazon launched Amazon Day, a new service that lets Prime Members pick what day of the week they want to receive their packages.

All you have to do is select the Amazon Day option at checkout, then choose the day that works best for you. Orders will be delivered each week on your chosen day. For example, if you choose Wednesday all the orders you placed during the week will be delivered on Wednesday, your “Amazon Day”.

If you want to choose a different day your default delivery day can be changed anytime at checkout.

Most items can be ordered for Amazon Day delivery up to two days before your chosen day.

If you need an item sooner, you can still choose a faster shipping option (free two-day shipping, one-day shipping, etc…) at checkout.

Amazon Day is available now to all US Prime Members. If you’re not a Prime Member, you can get more info and sign up here.

This Drawstring Leather Backpack may be Saddleback Leather’s simplest (and lightest) design yet!

NEWS – It looks like Saddleback Leather is rolling out a whole new set of backpack designs this month! We just saw the launch of the new Squared Backpack (which you can now pre-order), now joined by the Drawstring Leather Backpack.

This particular bag looks to be as simple and practical as it gets in a leather backpack. You’ve got a drawstring closure with a leather cover flap, and an interior pocket that will handle up to a 13″ laptop. The whole package comes in at 14″ tall by 10.5″ wide by 6″ deep and a total of 3.7 pounds, making it the lightest and slimmest pack in the Saddleback collection. The rounded profile and softer edges also make for a slightly less rugged look.

If you’re looking for a unique item, Saddleback is currently offering the first run in a limited and individually-numbered series with 160 bags in total. Once the first runs are sold out, it will be available for pre-order in regular production. Go check it out at the Drawstring Leather Backpack product page on the Saddleback Leather web site!

Who’s that knocking at my door? The FedEx SameDay Bot!

NEWS – In a continuation of the development of the entities that will soon become our evil overlords, FedEx is jumping into delivery automation in a big way with the new FedEx SameDay Bot.

With an interior compartment designed to carry packages, even hot or cold packages, the bot is designed to handle short-range deliveries. It is designed to help local retailers make same-day and last-mile deliveries to their customers. FedEx is working with companies such as AutoZone, Lowe’s, Pizza Hut, Target, Walgreens and Walmart to determine how autonomous delivery can improve service to their customer base. Per one study, more than 60 percent of merchants’ customers live within three miles of a store location.  This creates an opportunity for autonomous delivery systems to provide fast, on-demand delivery to a broad customer base.

The bot sports built-in AI and an innovative drive mechanism that is designed to allow the bot to traverse different terrains, including stones, sand, puddles, steep ramps and steps.

FedEx is developing the bot with DEKA Development & Research Corp. and its founder Dean Kamen, inventor of many life-changing technologies, including the iBot Personal Mobility Device and the Segway personal transporter.

FedEx has prototypes in development and testing in 2019 in select cities, including Memphis, Tennessee, pending the city’s final approval. Read more about the FedEx SameDay Bot at thefuturefedex.com. You can also watch a 28-second video showing some of its capabilities on vimeo. If your name is Sarah Connor, I would definitely pretend not to be home. But, the bot will likely…be back.

Deal – Amazon is having a blowout deal on SanDisk 400GB microSD cards

DEAL – You can never be too rich, have too many gadgets, or have too much file storage. To help you with the last one, I’m sharing news that SanDisk is having an awesome sale on microSD cards right now through Amazon. You can get a 400GB microSD card for $62.30 which is a 34% savings of their normal pricing. It’s a class 10 card capable of up to 100MB/s transfer read speed. It will work great for keeping an archive of your pictures, and video, along with any other types of files that you like to horde. If you don’t need 400GB (come on, who doesn’t need 400GB?), you can opt for smaller capacity cards which are also on sale with Prime shipping:

400GB microSD card for $62.30
256GB microSD card for $44.79
200GB microSD card for $29.21
128GB microSD card for $21.38
64GB microSD card for $11.55

I’m super tempted to buy the 400GB card for my shiny new Samsung Galaxy S10+ which will arrive next Friday. If you want to add to your collection of flashcards, head over to Amazon to take advantage of this deal. Hurry because it won’t be available for long.
