The Urban Nomads Bag transforms into a desk for your laptop or tablet

CROWDFUNDING NEWS – Much liked many photographers and gadget nerds that I know, I have been on a never-ending search for the right gear bag for each one of my passions. I already own more photography and videography gears bags than I can count, and I continue to add more to the collection. In addition to those types of bags, I am also always looking for the next EDC bag as well as a bag for when I am busy writing news stories and/or reviews and I just want to carry the relevant laptop and tablet and a few accessories.

Just recently, I came across the Urban Nomads Bag by Nomahawk. This bag allows you to seamlessly integrate your tablet and laptop and use the bag as a platform for working with your devices. It also has neat ways of accommodating your accessories.

The Urban Nomads Bag by Nomahawk will be launching on a Kickstarter Campaign very soon.

Color the world and earn $10K!

NEWS – Gadgeteers always have a critical eye for detail.  Do you have some time off this summer and are you looking to travel the US and Canada for free, and pocket a cool $10,000? Behr Paint Company, one of the largest manufacturers of paints, primers, decorative finishes, stains, and surface preparation products in the US, Canada, and Mexico markets is looking for someone with a critical eye for color this summer.

Behr is looking for one Color Explorer to travel across the United States and Canada this summer. You will seek inspiration from colorful places to create, and the even more fun part – name, real brand new Behr paint colors.  I’m thinking of things like “Pocket Protector White” and “Gadgeteer Gunmetal”, but the person chose will likely come up with much more colorful ideas.

The Behr Color Explorer will get the opportunity to kayak the glacial blues of Lake Louise in Banff, people-watch at a vibrant music festival, take in the bold exteriors of Charleston’s Rainbow Row and more. Flights, lodging, and experiences are all covered by Behr.

After the tour is over, the Behr Color Explorer will be tasked with developing and naming new paint colors with the brand’s Color Marketing team at their Orange County, California headquarters.

The expectations for the Explorer will be:

  • Traveling to colorful destinations across the United States and Canada
  • Capturing detailed field notes and photos of the color inspiration discovered at each stop
  • Sharing the color exploration journey on social media and the Colorfully, BEHR blog
  • Leveraging these findings to create and name beautiful new Behr Paint colors

Applicants ready for a colorful summer should visit behr.com/colorexplorer and tell Behr what color inspires them most and why, in 150 words or less, by May 15, 2019. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and a resident of the continental U.S. or Canada, with a valid passport. The selected Behr Color Explorer will be notified on or around May 23, 2019.

Got the itch and the eye?  Go for it!  I’m sure you will come up with something much better than “Owww! Whacked My Thumb Blue”.

It provides a safe and secure way to store your data without the monthly fees that are associated with conventional cloud data storage services and also offers advanced data encryption. The stackable design includes a total of 4 types of stackable modules; The Ubbey N is the base module that comes with 1 TB capacity, and can be used with most of Ubbey App’s features; the Ubbey E that allows you to expand your base module’s storage up to 4TB per module and allows you to stack up to 3 modules of this type; the Ubbey T is a WiFi module that allows you to connect wirelessly to your router; the Ubbey X represents other types of modules. Roland’s BTM-1 speaker lets your phone and guitar take center stage

NEWS – When Roland releases a new product, it’s always worth checking out. Just announced is their BTM-1 speaker, tuned for Bluetooth playback from your phone and direct guitar input. Roland takes their audio quality seriously so we’re looking forward to hearing this in action.

Controls on the top look to be; Power, Bluetooth and volume buttons along with knobs for Gain, Tone and Level. Analog overdrive tone and a rich echo effect should allow for customizing your guitar sound.

On the side, you’ll find a micro-USB charging port, 1/8″ headphone jack, 1/4″ guitar input and an 1/8″ aux input that can also support an instrument. A built-in rechargeable battery and compact, lightweight design should let you take and create your music anywhere.

Streaming services have put music discovery in the palm of your hand, so when that song you’ve just found literally has you grabbing your guitar, you can just plug in and play along. How cool is that?

Visually, this speaker is a creme color with gold accents and feels new and nostalgic at the same time, channeling the classic jazz amp colors. The speaker has a full grill on both sides so very interested to see how sound is directed within.

We’re hoping to review this one soon. Stay tuned and visit Roland.com.
