The GeekAire rechargeable portable fan will keep you cool and charge your phone

NEWS – Now that we’re smack dab in the middle of summer keeping cool seems harder to do. Especially if you’re out and about at a ball game, concert or favorite summer festival. GeekAire has come up with something that might help you out, a mini handheld portable fan.

The GeekAire GF2 series is a new generation mini handheld portable fan with a few tricks up its sleeve. What makes it different is that its rechargeable. Not only that it also has a 2600mAh lithium-ion battery, which can also be detached and used to give your device a quick power-up.

There’s also a charging dock for convenient charging and desktop use. The bottom of the charging dock has a reusable sticky rubber for enhanced stability. It can even be used upside down.

The fan has 5-speeds and an aerodynamic 6-blade design, powered by durable brushless DC motor. At top speed, the fan has a moving airspeed up to 27 ft/s.

The fan can run from 3-9 hours depending on which speed settings you use.

Dammit, Jim! I’m a doctor, not a bartender!

NEWS – Bones could be both if he had these Star Trek on-the-rocks glasses.  These straight-sided glasses hold 10.5 ounces.  Each has been hand-etched with a different Star Trek emblem.  The designs are applied by sand-blasting, not chemical etching.

The four designs are the Command symbol, Engineering symbol, Medical / Sciences symbol, and the Star Fleet Command logo.  A set of four is $45.00.  For an additional fee, you can have them personalized, too.

The Star Trek Rocks Etched Rocks Glasses are available from the Jackglass shop on Etsy.

In the midst of a storm when all else fails, the Kovea Spider Stove will do the trick

NEWS – Every year when hurricane season is approaching, I cannot help but remember my ordeal in NYC during Hurricane Sandy. During that storm, I spent 14 days without electricity and heat, and many nights I purchased food from the only restaurant that was somehow able to survive. While I did have gas during the storm, and while I was able to light my electronic ignition stove with matches, I often wonder what would have happened if I had an electric stove, or if the gas lines were damaged and unable to deliver gas. Since that storm, I have stocked up on a few emergency items that include propane powered indoor heaters, but I am still undecided about a stove.

Today, during one of my bouts of surfing the internet, I came across the Kovea Spider Stove. This little stove is powered by fuel canisters, has an anti-flame system pipe providing a powerful and stable flame, sits low to the surface, and allows you to place the fuel canister away from the stove for added safety. It is also very portable with its foldable pan support legs. When all else fails, including the loss of electricity and gas, it seems like it can get you through preparing a meal.

If you would like to learn more about the Kovea Spider Stove, or if you would like to purchase it, you can head over to Amazon and check it out. It is available for $59.90
