Add storage to your water bottle with PACELid

Fortune may favor the prepared, but sometimes survival depends on it. PACELid grew out of this philosophy when creator Chris Way, a backpacking, mountaineering and all-around adventure expert, thought about how he could customize his gear to make it more useful. He realized that one of his pieces of kit—his Nalgene bottle—was with him at all times, so the idea of attaching items to it gave way to creating a lid that could store items, and PACELid was born. “PACE” is an acronym for Primary, Alternate, Contingency, Emergency and it represents a communication methodology that originated in the military, so this seemed an apt name for this product. PACELid replaces the lid of your wide-mouth Nalgene, Klean Kanteen, or Hydroflask bottle and its own screw-down lid provides secure storage space for small items. Made from tough, injection-molded plastic, PACELid is available in Black, Red, Green or Blue colors for $19.99 each. Visit pacelid.com for more info or to order.

Bit Bar is the “Pocket Friendly EDC Screwdriver”

I’m a big fan of space-saving EDC tools, and if you are too, have a look at the Bit Bar from BIGiDESIGN, maker of lots of cool and useful EDC items. The Bit Bar is essentially a slim, compact screwdriver that carries its own bits in a spring-loaded, magnetic rack inside it. Just push on the bottom of the rack with your thumb and you have access to all of the bits. Then, just insert one into the end of the Bit Bar and you are in business. It also includes a keyring slot, a pocket clip and the center can be used as a bottle-opener. Available in glass-reinforced nylon ($75) and two colors of Grade 5 titanium ($120 each), the Bit Bar is a bit pricey, but for anyone who uses a screwdriver frequently but wants a slim design, check out the Bit Bar. Visit BIGiDESIGN for more info or to order.

This EDC flashlight from Foursevens gets a lot of action

The Foursevens Bolt – Action Light ditches traditional tail cap or side switch for a sliding bolt mechanism. Featuring three brightness levels and four special output modes, the Bolt – Action Light is powered by two CR2 batteries that keep the CREE XM-L2 LED shining bright.

The flashlight has a max brightness of 490 lumens and 59 lumens on the low setting. The batteries will power the flashlight for 1.2 hours on high and 8 hours on low.

Other modes allow for longer run times, with the 1-lumen Moonlight mode allowing for 102 hours of light.

For more info on the Foursevens Bolt – Action Light, visit foursevens.com where you can buy one for $100.

READYMAN adds a low cost storage option to your belt

EDC fans love their gear, but sometimes they run out of pockets to carry that gear. READYMAN offers a genius solution. It’s their EDC Belt Sleeve and it adds a little extra storage space at your waist.

The READYMAN EDC Belt Sleeve is a low profile ballistic stretch nylon tube that fits over your existing belt. Just slide it on and now you have a grippy open-ended pocket for your flashlight, multi-tool, and more.

The EDC Sleeve lays flat when you’re not using it, so it doesn’t get in the way like some belt pouches.

At only $7, it won’t break the bank and it might free up a pocket. Head over to readyman.com for more info.

True Utility gives you another option for an EDC pocket pen

What makes a perfect EDC pocket pen? Is it the size of the pen, the material the pen is made of, the type of refill it uses, or something else? There are many EDC pens on the market that you can choose from and the Telescopic Pen from True Utility is another one to add to the list.

The Telescopic Pen features a cap that has a metal loop that can be used to attach the pen to a keychain. The pen cap also has strong magnets that keep it on the end of the pen.

The stainless steel and aluminum pen is 2.8 inches long when it’s not being used and telescopes to almost double the length when you need to write with it. And speaking of writing, the Telescopic pen comes with 3 ink refills.

You can read more about the Telescopic Pen at www.trueutility.com and you can buy one for less than $10 on Amazon.
