OneLogFire makes campfires simple and portable

My idea of camping is sleeping with the windows open. But if I was actually going to camp outside, I would consider taking a OneLogFire with me. The OneLogFire is a self-contained campfire with everything you need except a match.

These kiln dried fire logs burn from the inside out. They are made from Minnesota harvested Red Pine trees and feature a rope handle for easy transport and a non-toxic firestarter on the side of the log for easy lighting.

Each log will burn for about 2 hours and since there are no chemicals involved, you can feel free to roast marshmallows and hotdogs over them without making the food taste weird or making you glow in the dark after you eat them.

OneLogFire logs are priced individually at $18.95 from www.onelogfire.com and you can find package deals on The Grommet and Amazon.

Crank up the perfect weenie roast

My mouth is watering just thinking about a perfectly roasted hotdog in a soft bun with just the right amount of ketchup but no mustard because mustard is disgusting 😉 I can’t remember the last time I had a hotdog cooked on an outdoor grill, let alone over a campfire. If I had a fire pit, I would seriously consider buying a Crank-Eez from Firebuggz.

The Crank-Eez is a specially designed hotdog skewer that has a 36-inch long food grade stainless steel rod and a fun wooden handle that you can crank to turn the hotdog over the fire for just the right level of burnt goodness.

The fork at the end of the Crank-Eez secures the wiener so it won’t fall into the fire. And if you’re not a fan of hotdogs, you can roast two marshmallows at a time.

You can read more about the Crank-Eez at firebuggz.com and you can order one for $19.39 from Amazon.

Firebiner is a carabiner that can make fire

If you like multi-tasking tools, you’ll want to check out the Firebiner from Outdoor Element. The Firebiner is a stainless steel carabiner that’s available in several colors and has a titanium coating. It works like traditional carabiners to let you hook things like your keyring to your belt or bag.

The Firebiner carabiner is rated for 50 lbs, but it also has a few built-in tools that set it apart from an ordinary carabiner.

It has a couple slots that you can use to attach items, a safety blade that can be used to cut different types of cord and fishing line, a bottle opener, screwdriver tip, and a spark Wheel that can help you start a fire.

The spark wheel is made of steel which scratches against a ferro rod to create a spark. The Firebiner comes with a ferro rod already installed along with some extras.

The Firebiner is $14.95 through Outdoor Element where you can read more about it. You can also find info on The Grommet and order through Amazon.

OtterBox introduces the Venture camping cooler. Of course it’s bear-proof.

OtterBox, makers of super-durable phone and tablet cases, is entering a new product category with the Venture camping cooler and Elevation drink tumblers. It looks like they’re bringing some next-level design thinking to the game in addition to the rugged durability OtterBox is known for.

The standard features on the Venture cooler series look pretty solid. Three sizes are available (25, 45, and 65 quarts) that are true to size in terms of capacity. All models have been drop-tested for durability on all edges and sides and will hold ice for up to 14 days. Standard features include non-slip rubber feet, integrated handles that double as tie-down points for securing the cooler, and a slanted bottom for easy draining. Customization looks to be the secret sauce here; Otterbox has built in a series of organizational slots and attachment points for a line of accessories including cutting boards, internal organizers, custom compartments, cup holders, and more. And yes, there’s a locking kit available that makes the whole setup certified bear resistant. Pricing is set at $249.99, $349.99 or $399.99 depending on size, with no additional accessory pricing information available at this time.

In addition to the Venture cooler, OtterBox is introducing a line of Elevation insulated drink tumblers. Available in 10 oz ($24.99), 20 oz ($29.99) and 64 oz ($89.99) sizes. Otterbox is also promising a bunch of accessory options here including french press attachments, tea/fruit infusers, and a shaker lid for whipping up campsite cocktails.

The Venture coolers and Elevation are not available yet, but you can sign up at otterbox.com for updates on when they are available. They will also be available at Best Buy in early June.

Disc-O-Beds are portable bunk beds for kids and adults

There are a few things that I dreamed about having when I was a kid. A tree house, a moped, LEGO, and bunk beds. So far, the only item from that list that I’ve gotten as an adult is the LEGO, but now that I’ve seen the Disc-O-Beds, I just might fulfill my childhood wish for bunk beds!

Disc-O-Beds are portable and modular military grade cots that can be used for camping or even at home for sleepovers. They are available in kid sizes like the Kid-O-Bunk shown above and in an extra large size for adults.

Disc-O-Beds feature waterproof/machine washable 600D polyester fabric and a sturdy steel frame that assembles easily and without any tools. It can transform from a “couch”, to bunk beds, or even into single cots.

The kid version is suitable for children up to 5-feet tall and up to 200 pounds.

When you’re not using the beds, they disassemble and store in a zippered pouch that can be stored in a closet or under a real bed.

Each adult version bunk is suitable for a person up to 6 feet tall and 500 pounds.

You can read more about the Kid-O-Bunk and Disc-O-Bed XL at discobed.com and order from Amazon from $269.99 up to $433.96
