WITTI BEDDI Charge alarm clock with night light and 3 USB ports review

WITTI Designs calls the BEDDI Charge “the most convenient USB Alarm Clock” – and they’re exactly right. This is a simple to use clock that doesn’t have any extra things to make it difficult to use.

What is it?

BEDDI Charge is a USB alarm clock that can charge 3 devices at once and a color changing mood light. Quite simply it’s a solution that I never even thought to look for.

What’s in the box?

  • BEDDI Charge Clock
  • Power adapter with cord
  • Quick Start Guide

Design and features

With a modern design and simple operation, the BEDDI Charge provides a dimmable clock, alarm, and a way to charge 3 USB devices, with a total of 3 amps. That alone makes it well worth the money! The alarm sound wakes you gradually by slowly increasing the alarm from a slow beeping to a more rapid and louder beeping before the designated alarm time.

The mood/night light has three modes. The first mode is warm white 100%, the second is warm white 30%, and the third is a color changing mode that gradually cycles through colors. This is quite handy when you need to get dressed without waking up anyone else.

The operation really could not be much simpler. Hold the alarm button and press the plus or minus buttons to set the alarm time. Use the plus and minus buttons alone to quickly set the time, not that you’ll be doing that much because it has a built-in battery to keep the time during a power outage. No more looking for which button is the alarm button or where it needs to be slid to in order to turn it on.

The snooze/dimmer button works just like any other clock and at it’s dimmest the clock is barely visible through the semi-mirrored front finish. The clock has four levels of brightness.

Switching between 12 hour and 24 hour time is as simple as pressing both the plus and minus buttons at the same time.

Once the time and alarm are set, it’s as simple as press one button for alarm on or off, one button for dimming the display, or one button for the light. No extra fussing around.

What I like

  • Backup Battery
  • 3 USB Ports
  • 16 million color mood/night light

What needs to be improved

  • A volume control for the alarm would be nice, sometimes you just want it to be loud so you don’t oversleep.

Final thoughts

This clock is exactly what I needed. The last thing I want to do before bed is to figure out how my clock works. Now I have another plug opening that I can plug something else into!

Game Boy alarm clock wakes you up to Super Mario tunes

Game Boy alarm clock

Waking up is about to become a bit more fun, or rather 8-bit more fun thanks to the Game Boy alarm clock. Sorry, we couldn’t resist.

The Game Boy alarm clock is practically an identical replica of the original console from the 80’s. To that effect, it’s even the same size. But instead of being used to play games, it’s designed to wake you up to the tune of Super Mario Land.

Its buttons are used as a snooze. And instead of playing games, its display showcases the time and date.

Yes, the Super Mario Land tune is already stuck in our heads too.

The alarm clock itself runs on 2 AA batteries. Firebox says that the batteries will last longer than they did in the real thing. It also has feet so that it can easily rest standing up on your bedside table. However, you can remove the feet if you want to – which is convenient in case you want to prank someone and ask them if they want to play some old school Game Boy.

And no, this is not an April fools post!

The Game Boy alarm clock is an officially licensed Nintendo product. It’s available now from Firebox for around $35 USD.

Tell time in the sweep of a radar screen with this watch from Tokyoflash Japan

The folks at Tokyoflash Japan are back with another of their animated watches.  The Radar LED watch has the appearance of those sweeping screens on a radar or sonar screen.  The watch has two modes of displaying the time: sweeping mode, which highlights three points in turn to indicate the hour and minutes; and flashing mode, where the  LED light beams display hours and minutes at a glance.

The watch has a stainless steel case and adjustable stainless steel, leather, or nylon strap.  The watch case and strap, regardless of type, are black, and you have your choice of blue or green LEDs.  It’s powered by a rechargeable PL301517 watch battery.  It measures 2″ x 1.6″ x 0.4″ and weighs 2.5 – 4.6 ounces, depending on strap option.

The Radar Screen LED watch is available for $189.00 at Tokyoflash Japan.

Time is etched on the surface of this sculpture

Or time is at least “etched” on the face of this clock.  The Etch Clock has a dark peacock-blue elastomer face that displays the time with numerals that appear to have been chiseled into its surface.  Using patent-pending technology, the surface reconfigures itself with each time update.  The 16″ x 16″ x 2.5″ Etch Clock and its aluminum bezel can be hung on a wall or can stand on a tabletop.

Using the app (iOS and Android), you can set the clock to display 12- or 24-hour time.  You can also have the clock wipe to a smooth surface every 30 seconds before displaying the updated time, and you can have it do the wipe/update only when it senses sound or movement.

The Etch Clock is serious artwork, and its price reflects that.  The MoMA Design Store sells the clock for $1950.00 or $1755.00 for MoMA members.

Synchronos watches are custom-printed to perfectly fit you

Synchronos watches aren’t smart watches, but they are clever.  They are custom 3d-printed to perfectly fit you.  The Alpha watch has a premium mechanical Swiss movement (Sellita-SW210-1) and a scratch- and shatter-resistant crystal.  The metal band is custom printed to your exact measurements and has a patent-pending, proprietary 3d-printed clasp mechanism.

When you order, or pre-order for some styles, an Alpha watch, you’ll first receive a scanning kit including a 3d scanner and instructions for precisely measuring your arm.  (Online help is available, if needed.)  Send that information in to Synchronos, and it will be used to adjust the watch printing pattern before your watch is printed.

Right now, you can order a titanium model for $1999.  These are limited to a production run of 10 watches.  You’ll be able to travel to the Synchronos studios (at your own expense), where engineers will do a personal fitting for you. You can pre-order the rose gold model ($749, 18k rose gold-plated 316L stainless steel, shipping in March 2018), the Onyx ($499, black ceramic-coated 316L stainless steel, shipping in April 2018), or the stainless ($399, 316L stainless steel, shipping in May 2018).  Learn more and order an Alpha watch from Synchronos.
