Logitech’s G935 is a wireless headset for serious gamers

NEWS – Though Logitech may be best-known for making general-purpose mice and keyboards, they recently announced a couple of products designed for hardcore video gamers.  The G935 is a top-of-the-line wireless gaming headset, and the G635 is its younger brother, a wired version of the G935.  This is the first headset that feature’s Logitech’s exclusive Pro-G 50mm Audio driver, which is designed to deliver “deep bass and a round sound profile for highly cinematic audio.”  It also features 2.0 surround sound, which simulates the 3D environments found in video games.

This headset is no mere headset.  Gamers love lights, and the G935 features Logitech’s LIGHTSYNC technology, which provides dynamic illumination that synchronizes to your games, videos, and music.  The light comes from an LED strip along the back of each headset and an iconic “G” symbol on each side.

The G935 has a 12-hour battery (without the lighting), an extendable, built-in microphone, leatherette earpads, and an on-ear volume control.  It uses 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi to connect to a USB dongle and has an indoor range of 15 meters.  The G635 has all the same features as the G935, sans the wireless capability.

You can pre-order Logitech’s new headsets directly from their online store or Amazon for $169.99 (wireless) or $139.99 (wired).

KitchenAid Cook Processor Connect: Everything you need to make a meal in one appliance

NEWS – Are you looking to replace a multitude of single use appliances that are sitting either on or under your counter? Is an InstaPot not exciting enough? Well then, the KitchenAid Cook Processor Connect might be for you. As the main cook in our house, I have an almost visceral reaction to gadgets lying around the kitchen that only do one thing, especially if they are large and need to be plugged in. The Cook Processor Connect goes one step further than simple appliance replacement, however, having the potential to replace smaller items as well such as bowls, scrapers, knives and a hotplate.

The Cook Processor comes with a 4.5L stainless steel bowl which fits into a base that houses the cooking controls. A number of attachments are included and can be used with the bowl to stir, chop, whip, emulsify, and knead. There’s also an insert for all of your steaming needs. Finally, a mini-bowl and blade are included for jobs that are too small for the main bowl.

The control base allows you to select what type of cooking you want to do, from frying, boiling, stewing, pureeing, sautéing and the aforementioned steaming. There’s also a built in scale that allows you to weigh ingredients right in the cooking bowl. Then, after you’ve added your carrots, celery and whatever else, inserting the stir assist attachment into the Cook Processor Connect will stir your ingredients while they are cooking.

In addition to being able to manually select all of the cooking functions that you want to use, the Cook Processor comes with an app that allows you to access recipes with step-by-step guidance .

The KitchenAid Cook Processor Connect will be available in Red and Black at an approximate price of $1,500. At the moment it’s only available in Australia but KitchenAid expects to release it in the US later this year. You can go to KitchenAid Australia to see all of its features in much more depth.

New gadgets to your door monthly with Tech2u.club

NEWS – Jonesing for some new gadgets and gizmos, but don’t have time to find the newest tech? Kickstarter campaign Tech2U.club plans to solve that problem for you. Tech2U offers a curated, monthly consumer electronics subscription club.  Think Watch Gang for tech nerds.

They promise to bring their members, “new, unique and practical tech”  with three membership options:

  • $70 for one month
  • $180 for three months ($60/mo)
  • $300 for six months ($50/mo)

Their focus is on new, fun and practical tech that their members will be able to put into use in their everyday lives.  Sounds a little like what us Gadgeteers look for every day! The first month’s box promises to contain practical items like a security camera, phone holder, aux cable as well as a fun 3D drawing pen with a total claimed value of over $159.

The Kickstarter campaign is still in its infancy with only four backers and $921 of a $30,000 goal raised as of this writing. Their main listed risk is getting too few (under 100) members to be able to provide access to the tech they want to provide to members. The funding period is scheduled to end on March 22, 2019 with subscription deliveries starting in April 2019. Does this sound interesting to you?  You can learn more about the campaign on Kickstarter.
