This camping cot has its own tent

The Kamp-Rite Oversize Tent Cot can serve as a chair, elevated cot (11″ above the ground), and one-person sleeping tent.  During the day, the Kamp-Rite serves as a chair or a lounge.  When it’s time to sleep, you can quickly raise the heavy-duty 210d tent with mesh doors and tape-sealed rain fly to keep you safe from weather and bugs.  The 3/8″ insulating foam pad helps keep you comfy.  Folded down, the Tent Cot measures 32″ x 36″ X 6″ and weighs 25 pounds.  It opens out to a 90″ x 32″ cot; the tent is 36″ high.  The Kamp-Rite Oversize Tent Cot is $169.99 at Amazon.

Flip-It caps let you use every last drop from bottles

Whether it’s lotion, ketchup, syrup, or something else, we’ve all experienced that moment when we squeeze a bottle and nothing comes out of the spout even though there’s product still left inside the bottle. So what do we do? We shake it, bang it on the counter, or if we’re ultra thrifty, we might actually cut the bottle open to scrape every last drop that’s left. There has to be a better way right?

Right! Flip-It caps to the rescue! When your bottle of lotion or ketchup stops pouring, just unscrew the cap and replace it with a Flip-It cap. The pull to open cap looks and works just like normal bottle spouts, except for one very important difference. Flip-It caps also have legs that allow you to stand the bottle upside down. Can you guess what happens next? That’s right, gravity takes over and everything that was at the bottom of the bottle eventually migrates to the new bottom which allows for easy squirtage. Yes, I just made up that term and think we should make sure it becomes the official word for 2018.

Flip-It caps are available in a variety of individual and sets that range in price from $12.95 to $29.95 from Amazon.

Carry your laptop in style with the backpack from Duchess Case

A few years ago, I reviewed a cute little clutch case for the iPad mini from Duchess Case.  The case looked like a clutch handbag instead of a utilitarian bag, so it was ideal for the woman who wanted something more fashionable than the standard tablet case.  I was checking out the Duchess Case website recently because I wondered if they had a similar case to fit the 12.9″ iPad Pro, and I was disappointed to see they don’t have a tablet case that size.  However, they do have a backpack that looks very similar to that cute little iPad mini clutch.

The Backpack for laptop has the same vintage style as the clutch I reviewed, with the same “kisslock” closure used on old-fashioned coin purses and handbags.  The backpack is 13.7″ tall X 9″ wide, so it should handily fit a variety of laptops or a 12.9″ iPad Pro. The bag has two interior sections: one for the laptop, and the other for notebooks, papers, or other gear.  The Backpack for Laptop is made of the same highly textured fabric the mini clutch used, and it’s available in blue, black, green, gray, lemon green, purple, red, or yellow for $159.00 at Duchess Case.

You can charge your phone with this car emergency escape kit

We’ve told you about a variety of emergency escape kits to keep in your car to help you escape quickly if you’re ever trapped in the car after an accident.  Some of them hang on your keychain, others are larger and are kept in the map pocket on the door or in the glove compartment.  Some of them might be hard to find or to reach after an accident, but you’ll not lose sight of the Ztylus Stinger Car Charger Emergency Tool.  This tool incorporates the window-breaking, spring-loaded punch and a blade to cut through a seatbelt into a USB charger that plugs into the car’s power outlet.

There are two USB outlets, each capable of a maximum of 2.4A; a Plus version has a maximum output of 3.1A per outlet.  You can use it daily to charge your phone or even a tablet.  Hopefully, you’ll never need it to escape a damaged or submerged car, but you’ll be able to easily see it and reach it if you ever have the need.  The Ztylus Stinger Car Charger Emergency Tool is available in black or white for $14.95 each for the standard or $24 each for the Plus version, or get two standards for about $28 or two Plus for $40 from Amazon.

Agate guitar picks resonate in a way plastic cannot

These agate guitar picks are handmade in Pennsylvania by Seth Maranuk, a jewelry designer and craftsman.  When he randomly found a tumbled stone chip that was shaped like a guitar pick, he began working to develop a “carefully shaped pick with just the right contour that allows for precision picking”.  These agate picks 1.2″ long X 1″ wide, and they “resonate in your hand in a way a plastic pick cannot, giving you a closer, smoother, and more integrated experience”.  Agate guitar picks are made by hand from natural materials, so no two are alike;  they are exclusively available for $20.00 at UncommonGoods.  They would be a great gift for the musician in your life.
