I mustache you to hold my razor!

NEWS – My daughter asked me just the other day what was the best way to store her razor in the shower, then I saw this on Amazon.  Mr. Razor from Peleg Design is a cute answer to her question.  This little mustachioed guy attaches to the tiled wall with silicone suction cups; he can also stick to glass and mirrors.  It measures only 3.3″ x 3.4″ x 2.3″, so he holds your razor without using up much room.

Peleg Design says they are “committed to the best customer service. Our clients’ satisfaction is our priority, which is why we always promise a full refund if you don’t like our product. NO QUESTIONS ASKED. For every need – contact us!” Mr. Razor is $16.99 at Amazon.

Jewelry that helps you find your way

NEWS – This awesome looking pendant from Swiss jeweler Meister is an actual working compass that folds down into a wearable piece of art. Made of titanium and gold, Meister offers three wearable gadgets that include two types of compasses and one sundial. I’m not sure how useful this compass pendant really is, but you have to admit that it looks pretty darn cool. But don’t get your wallet out just yet because when I tell you how much this wearable compass costs, you probably won’t care if you get lost. Ready for it? $2520 from Thorn Jewelry in the UK. I think I’ll stay south of this one.

Smartphone tripod, Hover 2 4K drone, and more – Notable crowdfunding campaigns

NEWS – This week I’m bringing you three Kickstarter crowdfunding campaigns for photo and video creators. I’m setting goals to be more creative with my photography and video in 2019 and all three of these products would be great for me. How about you?

The Ultimate Kickstand

What is it?

The Ultimate Kickstand is a folding tripod for smartphones.

Why is it cool?

Why do I think that the Ultimate Kickstand is cool? Unlike most portable stands that I’ve seen and used, the Ultimate Kickstand allows you to position your phone in almost any angle or orientation. Not just in landscape or portrait orientations. You can also adjust the angle of the screen so that you can view the screen hands-free.

The inventor sent me a prototype of the Ultimate Stand that he had made with parts that were printed with a 3D printer. Although the prototype was pretty rough, I can see the potential for a stand of this type.

Where can I find more info?

The Ultimate Kickstand campaign ends on 1/20/19 they are working towards their funding goal of $10,000. You can pre-order an Ultimate Kickstand starting at $15. After the Ultimate Kickstand campaign ends, rewards are estimated to start shipping in May 2019. Visit their Kickstarter page for all the details.

Pivo

What is it?

Pivo is a photography and videography accessory for your smartphone that works with an app to provide 12 shooting modes which include auto-tracking of the subject.

Why is it cool?

I think Pivo is cool because I can envision several ways that I could use this device to help me with the video and images I capture for the reviews that I do. The auto-tracking feature of faces and objects is the one that intrigues me most.

Where can I find more info?

The Pivo campaign ends on 1/10/19 they have already passed their funding goal of $25,000. You can pre-order a Pivo starting at $79. After the Pivo campaign ends, rewards are estimated to start shipping in March 2019. Visit their Kickstarter page for all the details.

Hover 2 4K Drone

What is it?

The Hover 2 is a folding 4K drone that flys itself.

Why is it cool?

Why is the Hover 2 drone cool? I think it’s cool because it has 3D radar that provides 360-degree obstacle avoidance which is killer. That’s my biggest issue with drones. I always end up flying them into things like trees and buildings. With this one, that would not be a problem anymore. The Hover 2 can also do cool cinematic shots that can take your videos to new heights. See what I did there?

Where can I find more info?

The Hover 2 campaign ends on 12/29/19 they have already passed their funding goal of $100,000. You can pre-order a Hover 2 starting at $449. After the Hover 2 campaign ends, rewards are estimated to start shipping in March 2019. Visit their Kickstarter page for all the details.

The Egg on a Bagel Maker makes eating a hearty breakfast on the run easy

NEWS – They say that Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. But grabbing a delicious, hearty breakfast while you’re hurrying to get out the door in the morning isn’t easy. The Egg on a Bagel Maker makes it easier to do just that.

This handmade ceramic dish was designed to quickly and easily cook up a fresh bagel sandwich. And who doesn’t like bagels?

All you have to do is whisk some eggs into the dish and pop it into the microwave for 60 seconds.

If you want you can add some veggies and cheese, or if you’re watching your cholesterol, you can just use egg whites. When the eggs are done, they’re the perfect shape and size to put on a freshly sliced bagel, complete with the hole in the center. How egg-tastic is that?!

Each dish is handmade in New York using stoneware clay and then finished off with a food-safe glaze.

The Egg on a Bagel Maker is oven, microwave, and dishwasher safe.

You can buy The Egg on a Bagel Maker for $25.00 from Uncommon Goods.

Enjoy a delicious lunch from home while saving the environment

NEWS – Unless you use a bento box or other reusable container, your lunch from home probably has a bit of paper and plastic waste.  You can still enjoy a wrapped sandwich from home, but you can cut the waste by using these reusable beeswax wraps from Z Wraps.

The wraps are made of 100% cotton, organic beeswax, organic jojoba oil, and tree resin.  The heat of your hands will help seal the wrapper around your food as you wrap it, or you can make it into a pouch by folding the wrap and running your fingers around the edges to seal it.  You can also use the wrap to cover leftovers.  And when their usefulness is over, the wraps are compostable.

Z Wraps can be washed and reused up to 100 times.  You need to check out the instructions for water temperature and washing methods to ensure your wraps last as long as possible.  Z Wraps are available individually in medium (12″ x 12” x 0.02″) or large (12″x 15” x 0.02″), starting at $8.95.  You can also buy a set of three Z Wraps with a small (8″ x 8″) added to the medium and large for $21.95.  Wraps are available in a variety of patterns.  The Z Wraps are available at The Grommet.
