Who cares about the SNES Classic mini, there’s going to be a C64 mini!

My second real computer (the first was a TI 99/4A) was a Commodore 64 and it was what started my obsession with BBSes and computers in general. I spent many hours typing in programs from magazines like Run and playing games like Pharaoh’s Curse, B.C.’s Quest for Tires, and others. I’m pretty excited to hear that there’s going to be a C64 Mini game console out next year for $79 that will include some classic C64 games. THEC64 Mini will feature an HDMI output and a joystick. But I’m bummed to hear that keyboard is just for looks… If you’re interested, head over to thec64.com for details and to preorder.

It’s UNO Emoji! :D

Why not get a head start on purchasing your Christmas stocking stuffers like this UNO Emoji card game? I’ve loved UNO since I was a kid and my kids love the game too. And since emojis are ever so popular today, this is a clever update to the game. As of this writing, the game is only $5.97 from Amazon. So, Merry early Christmas! 😀

Rejoice, dominoes have evolved

When was the last time that you played a rousing game of dominoes? I’ll admit that it’s been a few years for me, but if I had a set of Edge Dominoes from Fire Road, I’d want to play a game every day because they look so cool.

The Edge Domino tiles or bones as they are called, are made of light weight black anodized aluminum and feature a unique open skeleton design where the spots or pips have been engraved by lasers.

You can purchase a set of Edge Dominoes that store in a cloth bag for $99, or for $25 more, you can get them in a nice wooden box. For more info and to order, visit Fire Road.

Atari makes my childhood dream come true 40 yrs later

When I was a kid, I spent countless hours sitting on my bed gripping an Atari 2600 gaming controller while playing Centipede, Missile Command, Breakout, Pong and other games. I’d go to bed at night still seeing blocky game graphics animate behind my eyelids. The Atari 2600 was my first taste of video games and I was hooked. The only thing better than the Atari 2600 in those days would have been a version that I could have carried with me. Now I can relive those days the Atari Flashback Portable.

The Atari Flashback Portable is a version of the iconic Atari 2600 gaming console but in a pocket-friendly handheld form factor.

The Flashback Portable features a 3.2″ color display, a rechargeable battery, a built-in gaming controller, and 60 classic games built into the device. But wait, there’s more! The Flashback also has an SD card slot that allows you to load other game ROMs. And for those times when you want to enjoy the games on a larger screen, you can connect it to a TV.

The Atari Flashback Portable is priced at $49.99 and can be purchased through Amazon.
