Mighty Mug cups use magic to prevent spills

How many times of you accidentally knocked over a drink at home, or work? It’s not only a pain to clean up the mess, but it’s kind of embarrassing too. The obvious solution is to be more careful, but we all know that accidents happen and just paying more attention won’t always prevent the next spill. What we need is some magic and Mighty Mugs have it.

What are Might Mugs? They are a collection of beverage containers that have benn designed with a special base that stops spilling because they won’t tip over.

Beverage holders from Mighty Mug use Smartgrip technology to create an airtight seal against flat surfaces, so they can’t be knocked over because they only lift in one direction which is up.

There are Mighty Mugs for every purpose, from stainless steel travel mugs, plastic tumbers, and even beer and wine glasses.

Priced starting at $16.99, you can read more about Mighty Mugs by visiting themightymug.com. You can order one from The Grommet or Amazon.

Your greatest dream of drinking coffee from a horn has come true

No, Gadgeteers, I am not kidding. Apparently, travel mugs in the shape of a horn are the next big thing. Or that’s what the fine coffee loving folks at Goat Story hope will be true with their GOAT MUG.

What the heck is a GOAT MUG Julie? Well, my friends, it’s a 12 or 16-ounce BPA-free mug that’s shaped like a horn. A goat’s horn to be exact.

Featuring attachment points at the top and bottom for the included strap, the leakproof GOAT MUG has been designed to be worn over your shoulder while you’re on the go.

When you get to your destination, you can remove the cuff, flip it around, and it becomes a stand for the horn/mug. Kooky or cool? I’ll let you be the judge if this is a useful beverage container or a hipster coffee chalice.

The crazy thing is that the GOAT MUG was a successful Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign that brought in more than $450,000 of pledges, so go figure.

Want one a GOAT MUG? It’s is now available for $28.50 and up depending on the size and strap material. Visit Goat Story and Amazon for more info.

Velv will let you oxygenate young wine in no time

An unexpected visit from an old friend and an unopened bottle of Caymus. If you’re amongst the fortunate few to have old friends and a bottle of Caymus you surely know how tragic this event is. But wait! Don’t despair! There’s a gadget to the rescue!  The newly available Velv Wine Oxygenator will develop that bottle’s best bouquet in no time, using 99.5% oxygen to imbue a soft, silky taste and optimal aromatics in three to seven minutes, depending on the varietal.  The Velv uses an oxygen capsule in the handle and a long wand with a sintered tip to disperse microbubbles of oxygen into the wine, even within the bottle.  The manufacturers claim that by increasing the amount of Oxygen, reactions that alter the bouquet are completed more quickly and therefore occur before aroma and taste are lost due to the traditional decanting process. Intrigued? Curiosity will cost you – the starter kit costs $300 and includes the Velv Wine Oxygenator, one Velv PUREOXYGEN capsule, and a Velv Protective Case. Each capsule can prepare approximately 5 to 10 bottles of wine, and additional 2-packs of capsules are available online for $25. For more information, visit www.velvwine.com.
