Fly through TSA checkpoints in a jiffy with WaterField’s new Zip Laptop Brief

Earlier today, WaterField Designs of San Francisco announced their newest bag. It’s a new version of their TSA-friendly Zip Laptop Brief. The Zip Brief is a bag for travelers who don’t need to carry everything, but just the essentials.

This bag has been designed to unzip around three sides so it can lay flat for TSA-airport security.

You won’t have to remove the laptop, just unzip, lay it on the X-ray conveyor surface and you’re done.

The Zip has pockets for your phone, charger, cables, a pen and it even has a strap on the back so it can slip over a wheeled suitcase handle.

The Zip Laptop Brief is available in three sizes to fit PC laptops, 15-inch or 13-inch Macs, or similarly-sized devices. And it comes in waxed canvas or ballistic nylon with leather accents.

The bag is priced from $219 to 239. You can read more about the Zip by visiting www.sfbags.com/products/zip-laptop-brief-tsa.

Soarigami is a portable folding armrest extender for frequent flyers

It might look like a weirdly shaped paper airplane, but it’s actually something that will make your next airplane flight more comfortable. And if you’ve flown lately, you know that comfort is hard to come by on a commercial flight with the way they cram people into planes these days.

The Soarigami is a folding armrest divider and extender that will allow seat mates each have two arm rests each instead of just one.

No more fighting over armrests. Just unfold the Soarigami and clamp it over an existing armrest (1.5 – 2.75 inches wide) to provide double the surface area for each person to rest their elbows and forearms with a divider in between.

The Soarigami portable armrest is made of recycled plastic and has been designed to fold flat for easy carry when it’s not being used.

You can read more about the Soarigami at soarigami.com and you can buy one for $25 from Amazon.

The HYLETE icon 6-in-1 backpack 40L is way more than a carry-on bag

I have more carry-on bags than I would like to admit. The reason is simple, I haven’t found one that fits all my travel needs. Do I want a backpack or a roller bag? Can I use it when I get to my destination without looking like I am carrying a carry-on bag? So, basically, I am still looking for a bag with versatility.

HYLETE has a new bag called the icon 6-in-1 backpack 40L that seems to address my needs. The icon 6-in-1 backpack 40L (a mouthful I know) is built off of another model the icon 6-in-1 backpack 60L. The icon 6-in-1 40L has the ability to be carried in six configurations; backpack, extended backpack, small duffle, extended duffle, removable daypack and messenger bag.

The two features that stand out to me are the expandable compartment and the removable daypack. Available at the HYLETE website for $200, this bag could be the solution to mine and your travel needs.

For in-flight convenience, Walter + Ray TAB bags fit in the seatback in front of you

I only fly once or twice a year, but when I do, it’s a hassle to get to my gear when my bag is either in an overhead bin or under the seat in front of me. These bags from Walter + Ray solve that problem by putting your gear in a much better location, the seatback pocket in front of you.

Walter + Ray offer a few styles of TAB Seatback Organizer bags.

The Slim Onboard Organizer and Travel Bag is shown in the two images above, features a narrow shape with a magnetic flap that hangs down over the seatback pocket to hold your phone and other small items. The bag offers RFID protection, and there’s even a hook for your headphones.

There are also versions of the TAB bag made in calfskin like the one shown above and below.

All of the Walter + Ray TAB bags have an organization panel and pockets that hold pens, a notebook, passport, cables, tablets and more.

I have no idea why you’d want to carry golf tees with you, but hey, golfers are crazy 😉

The TAB bags are priced starting at $49.95 and go up to $145.00 for the leather versions. For more info about the TAB bags, visit walterandray.com and you can order one from The Grommet and Amazon.
