This Apple Watch charger serves as a charging station for your nightstand

Many Apple Watch charging stands I’ve seen are about this size, and they only charge the Watch itself.  This Simpeak 4-Port USB Charger Station not only charges the Watch in Nightstand mode, but the base has three extra USB ports for charging phones and tablets.  You’ll need only the included power supply to charge up to four devices simultaneously from a single wall outlet.

Specifications

  • Input: 100V-240V 50/60Hz
  • Output: 5V 6A (Max).  With built-in smart chips, each port can automatically detect your device and delivers the fastest charge required (up to 2.4 amps).
  • Material: ABS Plastic
  • Dimension: 3.54 x 3.54 x 2.75 inches

The hollow base can store the excess cable for the Watch charger, plus it has room for other small items.  You’ll need to supply your own charging cables.

The Simpeak 4-Port USB Charger Station is $19.98 in white or black from Amazon.

This wristlet’s powerbank keeps your phone charged without breaking the piggy bank

We’ve seen small handbags and purses with built-in backup batteries inside that can keep your phone charged all day.  Most of those bags seemed to start at a couple hundred dollars, but they came with a Qi charging pad to keep the purse itself recharged.  The Sak Sanibel Charging Wristlet will keep your phone charged while you’re out for the day, but you’ll need to plug it in with a charging cable at night to keep its battery pack charged.  That small inconvenience isn’t too great a price to pay to get a charging wristlet at a great price.

The battery pack will work with Android or Apple phones, though Apple users will have to buy their own short Lightning cable.  It has a 2500 mAh power reserve.  Users have specified that the bag accommodates a phone up to the size of an iPhone 7 Plus.  The Sak measures 8.3″ x 0.8″ x 5″ with a 5″ wrist strap.

The exterior has a full-width zipper pocket, and there’s an interior zipper pocket, as well.  You’ll have room for a small card wallet and keys, making the Sanibel the perfect go-to-lunch bag.

The Sanibel is made of leather with a polyester lining, and it is available in a variety of exterior finishes.  Price varies from about $30 to $90, depending on the design.  The Sak Sanibel Charging Wallet is available on Amazon.

Recall of powerbanks sold at Container Store

Last December, we told you about a 3-in-1 powerbank set at The Container Store.  I was in a store over the weekend, and I saw a sign saying that they were recalling the Grab & Go Powerbank Station.  The product has a possibility of the batteries overheating during charging, making it a burn and fire hazard.

If you bought one of these powerbanks, The Container Store says you should stop using them immediately and return them for a full refund.  Go to The Container Store website for information about how you can return the product.

Case-Mate’s Power Pad wireless charger doesn’t care about your phone’s orientation

If you have a newer iPhone, Samsung Galaxy S9, or another phone that supports Qi wireless charging and you haven’t bought yourself a wireless charger, what are you waiting for? Wireless chargers are so easy to use because you don’t have to plug in a cable. Just set the phone on the charger and you’re done. The only downside to a Qi charger is that most chargers require you to place your phone on the charger in portrait orientation, making it the wrong angle if you want to watch a video while topping off the battery.

The new Case-Mate Power Pad works in portrait or landscape, to let you choose which orientation to place your phone. The charging pad can even be removed from the stand to place it flat if you like. The Power Pad is available in black or white and features fast charging for Qi-enabled devices like the Apple iPhone (7.5W) and Samsung Galaxy (9W) and comes with an 18W quick charger USB wall adapter. You can buy the Power Pad for $60 from Case-Mate or $46.51 from Amazon.

Charge all your devices in this stand – including your laptop

The DskStnd QUAD is an organizer with spaces to hold an iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, AirPods (or a second iPhone), and even a laptop computer (Mac or PC) for charging.  As it comes standard, this DskStnd charging station is outfitted for Apple mobile devices.  Android lovers shouldn’t despair, because you can buy replacement cables that replace the Lightning connectors with microUSB connectors.  And although it’s not set up to charge it, there’s even a holder for an Apple Pencil.

The QUAD can be customized for your gear.  For example, you can purchase a larger tablet support for an iPad Pro or add a hanger for headphones or glasses.  And as mentioned above, you can purchase optional cables to convert some of the spots to microUSB chargers.  You can even add iPhone fast or standard wireless charging.

The DskStnd is handmade, using plastic with a wood base.  Choose from an oak, maple, white rustic, slate gray, or merlot red base.  The DskStnd QUAD is available in white or in black.  Prices start at $109.00.  Check them out at the NytStnd shop at Etsy.
